THE RAISE: GENERATIONS OF BLACK EXCELLENCE
Raise Scholars is a donor initiative supported by The Raise: Generations of Black
Excellence, a network of donors making a lasting impact at the University of Michigan.
Founded in 2020 by alumna Brandi Hudson (AB ’01), The Raise advocates for Black
students, staff, and faculty by centering their experiences in programming open to all.
Its goals are to diversify the student body, increase representation on campus boards,
and grow Black philanthropic engagement. By honoring the legacy of Black alumni and
looking toward the future of incoming students, The Raise fosters intergenerational
responsibility and enduring networks of support.
