RAISE SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Raise Scholars Program, funded by RAISE: Generations of Black Excellence, is an initiative
designed to empower prospective students from partner high schools with a pronounced
interest in attending the University of Michigan. This transformative, tuition-free pre-college
program is dedicated to fostering a student body that mirrors the rich diversity of the state of
Michigan. Participants cultivate meaningful connections with current students and faculty,
forging a sense of belonging and a supportive community within the university. Ensuring that
students are well-prepared for academic success, they receive personalized application
guidance, immerse themselves in the U-M network, and gain insights into the many campus
resources available. Through this comprehensive engagement, students can envision their
future at the University of Michigan and be equipped to thrive within its dynamic academic
environment.
This comprehensive support system has yielded impressive results, with six
students from the inaugural cohort committing to U-M Ann Arbor and one
student admitted to U-M Dearborn with plans to transfer to U-M Ann Arbor.
