MICHIGAN COLLEGE ADVISING CORPS
The Michigan College Advising Corps (MCAC) is a diverse group of recent U-M graduates
strategically embedded as full-time college advisers and AmeriCorps members in partner high
schools throughout the state. MCAC's mission is clear: inform students of their inherent right
to post-secondary education, actively engage families as they navigate college, and inspire
communities to continue fortifying their college-bound ethos. Through collaboration with
principals, counselors, teachers, and advocates within their schools and communities, advisers
act as near-peer pathfinders, connecting students with the resources to identify their best fit
among various post-secondary options. Whether assisting students in pursuing community
college, cosmetology school, trade school, the military, four-year universities and colleges, or
the workforce, MCAC advisers embody a force of change propelling underrepresented students
to, through, and beyond their goals with unwavering dedication and impact.

North Carolina at Chapel Hill following the successful 2004
