COMMUNITY OF PHYSICISTS
FOR INCLUSION AND EQUITY
Community of Physicists for Inclusion and Equity (CoPhIE), formerly known as the Society for
Women in Physics (SWIP), is a volunteer group of undergraduate students, graduate students,
postdoctoral scholars and faculty associated with physics at the University of Michigan. CoPHIE
welcomes members of any gender identity from any department at U-M interested in fostering
a supportive environment for underrepresented groups in the field of physics. The group
provides a unique opportunity to develop leadership and organizational skills, as well as to
become engaged with the physics community at and beyond U-M.
