SOCIETY OF PHYSICS STUDENTS
The University of Michigan Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a student-run organization for
anyone interested in physics. The UM-SPS is deeply involved in the community by volunteering
at educational events, offering tutoring and GRE preparation to students in the area, and
hosting bi-weekly lectures and a variety of social events. SPS promotes science literacy and
appreciation through physics outreach programs to grades K-12 and the general public.

Participates in Physics Palooza at the Ann
Arbor Hands-on Museum, presenting physics
demonstrations for the general public.

Science Tuesdays, an after-school program, is started and
managed by a member of the SPS where students learn
about a new topic in science each week, with
demonstrations to increase student engagement.
Presents a lecture on the Physics
of Bicycles to an audience
consisting of the general public.
