MICHIGAN MATH AND
SCIENCE SCHOLARS
The Michigan Math and Science Scholars (MMSS) Program is a summer enrichment program that
aims to increase knowledge and foster an interest in math and science among high school students.
Each summer, MMSS welcomes students from around the world to Ann Arbor for three, two-week
sessions. Participants have the opportunity to take a course designed specifically for high schoolers
by University of Michigan faculty in fields such as mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry.
Students are able to use the first-class labs, classrooms and technology at U-M while learning from
its faculty, graduate students and advanced undergraduates. The MMSS program is a stepping stone
for today’s high school student to become tomorrow’s university student.
