COLLEGE 101
College 101 was a summer residential program held at the University of Michigan from 2011 to 2015. Designed to
introduce high school students to higher education through immersive on-campus experiences, the program
provided participants with first-hand exposure to college culture, academic expectations, and the benefits of
earning a degree. Students attended academic presentations and informative sessions on college admissions, career
pathways, and unique opportunities like study abroad, athletics, and leadership development. They participated in
cultural and social activities in the evenings, providing a glimpse into campus life. By interacting with U-M faculty,
staff, and current students, participants gained valuable insights into higher education, helping them envision
their own college journeys.
